Waking up hungover after a late-night party is something I usually avoid.
But yesterday?
Yesterday was an exception.
I mean—my company is getting merged with one of the top companies in the world.
If that doesn’t deserve a wild celebration, what does?
Still… the headache wasn’t worth it.

Even though Rudransh had every reason to feel proud, there was an emptiness within him—one he wasn’t even fully aware of.
He wasn’t someone who sat with his emotions. He never had been.
He lived for the highs—the adrenaline, the success, the rush of the present.
But his past?
It was always there.
Quietly intertwined with everything he tried to escape.
*********
He woke up at his usual time.
Sharp.
6:00 a.m.
No alarm.
No snoozing.
Just discipline.
********
And his house?
Well… “house” would be an understatement.
It had everything.
A fully equipped gym.
An indoor badminton court.
A seven-bedroom modern villa that screamed wealth, class, and minimalism.
There was a home office, a private library, a massive hall, and an open kitchen with a dining space that extended into a breathtaking garden.
And the pool?
A dreamy swimming pool with a deck that looked straight out of a luxury magazine.
Perfect for relaxing.
Or escaping.
*******
The villa had two floors.
The ground floor held the common spaces—hall, kitchen, dining area—and two rooms reserved strictly for guests and work.
The first floor?
Entirely his.
Five bedrooms.
One was his main bedroom, connected to his personal office and library, with direct access to both the terrace and a private balcony.
Another room, right next to his, also had terrace access.
The remaining three rooms had their own balconies—private, yet separate from his space.
The house staff lived in outhouses towards the northwest corner, near the badminton court and garage.
The pool and private garden?
Only accessible from inside the house.
It was his own little world.
A controlled one.
A protected one.
There was even a smaller front garden—meant only for outsiders.
A glimpse.
Just enough for people to admire his taste without ever truly entering his world.
Rudransh had designed it that way.
Carefully.
Intentionally.
*******
He freshened up and headed straight to the gym.
Forty-five minutes of intense workout later, he was ready to take on the day.
His first day at the new office.
********
The house staff had already begun their daily routine.
Everything was set.
Prepared.
Perfect.
Not because he demanded it—
But because they respected him.
He never behaved like a typical “boss.”
Yet, respect followed him naturally.
Sunora handled the kitchen.
Ramya assisted her.
Suresh managed house maintenance, with Rajesh and Vinod helping him.
With state-of-the-art technology installed throughout the villa, maintaining it wasn’t difficult.
Just… efficient.
*********
As Rudransh stepped into the dining hall, the staff greeted him warmly.
He gave them a small smile and took his seat.
Silently scrolling through his phone, catching up on current affairs, he began his breakfast.
But something caught his attention.
Sunora.
Her face held concern.
He frowned slightly.
“Aunty, yen aythu? Yenadru bekitha?”
(Aunty, what happened? Do you need something?)
She shook her head.
“No.”
But he understood.
He always did.
He gave her a reassuring smile.
“I’m happy. I’m fine. Don’t worry.” She smiled back.
But she knew.
To them, Rudransh was a calm, polite, well-mannered man. A gentleman.
But the truth?
He wore a mask. A convincing one.
Because beneath that charm—
There was chaos.
A constant war between his mind and his heart.
And the world outside?
They didn’t see the gentleman.
They saw something else entirely.
A man true to his name—
Rudransh.
Powerful.
Fierce.
Unforgiving.
A man whose temper knew no limits.
In the corporate world, people admired him.
Respected him. Feared him.
Because while he could charm a room in seconds—
His anger?
Was something no one wanted to witness.
***********
Breakfast ended in silence.
Routine.
Controlled.
Predictable.
*********
He picked up his work bag, acknowledged the staff, and walked toward the garage.
For a moment, he paused.
Then decided—
He’d drive today. The engine roared to life.
And just like that, he drove off toward his new office.
Unaware…
That the universe had already begun rewriting his story.
